Wire Post-tensioning System
The BBRV post-tensioning cables are one of the earliest and most reliable post-tensioning systems. This parallel wire post-tensioning system has been developed by BBR in 1944 and has since been continuously advanced. The high strength wires are anchored individually by means of propriety cold formed BBR buttonheads.
The standard tendons are executed with 14, 22, 31, 42, 52, 82 and 102 dia. 7mm wires. Intermediate tendon sizes can be fabricated by omitting several wires in a standard tendon. Larger sizes for special applications have also been executed numerous times. Active and passive anchorages of different types all rely on proprietary BBR buttonheads with which each wire is fixed in a compact anchor head. The button heads are cold-upset by special machines. Coupler anchorages (with sleeves or rods) and fan-type fixed anchorages are also available.
