Happy 40th Birthday Sydney Tower!

Realized with BBR DINA parallel wire stay cables

It hardly seems possible, but the iconic Sydney Tower – created with BBR stay cable technology – first opened its doors to the public on 25th September 1981. The steel tower shaft’s unique supporting net structure was created using 56 BBR DINA wire parallel stay cables arranged in a hyperboloid of revolution. After 40 years, the 309m high Sydney Tower still remains the tallest structure on the city skyline – a beacon not only for Australia, but also for the strength, versatility and durability of BBR technology!
