Innovative Singapore scheme benefits from BBR PT

Collaborative design approach drives success

Congratulations to BBR Construction Systems Singapore who have recently provided a great solution with BBR VT CONA CMI internal post-tensioning for Timmac @ Kranji, an innovative high-rise development supporting the needs of small-to-medium sized businesses in the metal, machinery and timber industries. After early involvement in the scheme right from the design stage, the team was rewarded with the contract for post-tensioning the 14m wide ramp which needed to accommodate heavy trailer loading, as well as providing access to both wings of the development. Also included in the contract was the pretensioning of precast ‘T’ slabs for the two wings. Some, 1,000t of prestressing steel was used for post-tensioning the ramp structure and a further 600t for the pretensioning work. The success of the scheme is further proof that a collaborative approach to design produces a great end result – for all stakeholders.
