With the completion of the Woolworths Distribution Centre in Palmerston North, New Zealand, the BBR Contech team can now reflect on the astonishing achievement of over 3 million square meters of post-tensioned concrete slabs – having first introduced the concept and benefits to New Zealand customers almost 40 years ago. The slabs have been used in almost every solution you can imagine including retail stores, plasticware factories and even an aircraft museum! The largest was for another grocery distribution facility at 74,000m² (see CONNÆCT 2021) and one of the smallest for a chocolate manufacturer.
