Congratulations to BBR Construction Systems (Malaysia) on the completion of their Pulau Poh stay cable bridge which spans Lake Kenyir in the State of Terengganu. BBR Malaysia, along with the designer, proposed a stay cable solution for this bridge which links the new Pengkalan Gawi marina center with Pulau Poh island. The 133m long deck of the main span is supported by 20 pairs of BBR HiAm CONA stay cables and these are counter-balanced by seven pairs of massive HiAm CONA 10906 back stays. The stay cables are anchored on a uniquely designed pylon which curves in two planes and was designed to reflect the ‘bangau’ – a kind of figurehead found on traditional fishing boats.
